Why This Platform Exists
I built this platform to help my own students learn Python and prepare for their GCSE Computer Science exams. What started as a simple online Python interpreter to track student progress has grown into a comprehensive teaching tool covering the entire GCSE specification.
I genuinely enjoy building this platform and creating new features that make teaching easier and learning more engaging. However, after hundreds of hours of development over many months, the reality is that there are substantial ongoing costs that I cannot feasibly self-fund indefinitely:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure to keep the platform running 24/7
- Database fees for storing student work and progress
- AI API costs for providing intelligent hints and feedback
- Continued development and maintenance
The £150 annual fee per school is designed to cover these costs while keeping the platform accessible to as many schools as possible. Until September 2026, the platform remains completely free for all teachers and schools to give everyone a chance to try it and see the value it can bring to their classroom.
Thank you for supporting this project and helping to make quality Computer Science education more accessible.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after September 2026?
Schools will be asked to pay £150 per year to continue using the platform. We'll send plenty of advance notice and make the payment process as simple as possible.
How can I pay?
We accept card payments (via Stripe) and school purchase orders. From your school dashboard, you can pay instantly by card or upload a PO document — we'll send you a formal invoice with 30-day payment terms.
What do early adopters get?
Schools that subscribe before September 2026 receive exclusive bonus resources including extra revision material packs, downloadable worksheets, and early access to new features as they launch. It's our way of saying thank you for your support.
Is there a limit on students or teachers?
No. There's no cap on teachers or students. The £150 price is based on what a normal secondary CS department uses. If you're much bigger than that (e.g. a large online school or a MAT), we'd look at pricing together at renewal. See the fair usage section above.
Can I try it before committing?
Absolutely! The platform is completely free until September 2026. Sign up, explore all the features, and use it with your classes to see if it works for you.
What exam boards do you support?
The platform covers the full GCSE Computer Science specification with comprehensive support for multiple exam boards including OCR, AQA, and others.
What if my school can't afford £150?
Please get in touch. I want this platform to be accessible to all schools, and we can discuss options for schools with limited budgets.
